Why do you use aluminum for your custom mailboxes and can I expect it to last?
Mailboxes of Distinction uses aluminum as our core material for its custom mailboxes due to its low weight, durability and strength. Aluminum is an ideal metal if a mailbox is to be located in coastal areas that are subject to severe weather conditions. Aluminum will never rust and it is strong enough to support the entire mailbox structure while still allowing us flexibility in design.
We apply cosmetic coatings and claddings to the exterior of the aluminum structure to enhance our mailbox designs. These coverings are durable and adhere to the aluminum for the life of the structure. Mailboxes of Distinction also utilizes various types of fine metals such as copper, stainless steel and brass. The combination of each of these materials, together with our construction techniques, results in a well-built structure with a life equal to or greater than any other mailbox available in the mailbox industry.
